New data measured with Bindex™

New data measured with Bindex™ was presented in American Society of Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) Meeting in San Diego. The on-going study with seventy-four (n = 74) elderly women showed encouraging results. The study aims to compare bone mineral density (BMD) estimate and fracture risk obtained using Bindex™ against axial DXA and FRAX®. The cortical bone thickness at different locations was significantly lower in the osteoporotic subjects than non-osteoporotic. In addition, the Bindex™ showed significant correlation with the femoral neck BMD measured by axial DXA (r = 0,74, p < 0,001). Agreement of treatment proposals with Bindex™ and axial DXA based fracture risk assessment tool was high (91%).
